Experience archaeology in action. Visit the Bodo Archaeological Site and Centre and take part in one of the unique programs designed for people of all ages. The Bodo Archaeological Locality is one of the largest and well-preserved archaeological sites in Alberta. Come experience it for yourself.
Bodo Archaeological Site and Centre hours of operation:

May 1, 2012 to August 24, 2012:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. The last weekday tour will begin at 3:00 pm. Pre-registration is appreciated. Please call ahead: 780-753-6353.

Self Guided Tour of Archaeological Centre only
Duration: 1 hr
Cost: $7.00 per person
Guided Tour of Archaeological Centre and Site
Duration: 2 hrs
Cost: $20.00 per person. Large groups please call for pricing.
Enjoy an indoor-guided tour of the Bodo Archaeological Centre with our knowledgeable interpreters and archaeologists. The tour begins with a 20-minute introductory video in our indoor Tipi Theatre. Take a step back in time as you walk through the many exhibits that feature interpretive displays and artifacts from the Bodo Archaeological Site and the surrounding area. Visit a working archaeological lab and talk to the archaeologists about the artifacts they have found. Finally, make the 5-minute drive to the Bodo Archaeological Site where you will observe an authentic archaeological excavation, get the opportunity to ask questions to an archaeologist, learn about the past research that has happened at the Bodo Site, and discover the unique flora and fauna that make up the unique landscape of Bodo Sand Hills. During this tour you will discover archaeology as you learn more about Alberta’s history.
End your visit to the Bodo Archaeological Site with a stop at our gift shop where you will find unique arts and crafts, local souvenirs, and a variety of history and archaeology books.
